Preparing for NIH visit
- You must be off of the following medications for at least 6-8 weeks:
- Spironolactone (Aldactone)
- Eplerenone (Inspra)
- Triamterene (Dyrenium, Dyazide, or Maxzide)
- Amiloride (Midamor, Moduretic)
- We ask that you be off of the following medications for at least 4 weeks:
- Potassium-wasting diuretics (e.g. furosemide or Lasix)
- Chewing tobacco
- Licorice-containing products
- Stop any biotin or "hair" or "nails" multivitamins for at least two weeks prior to your arrival to the NIH.
The team may instruct you or your medical provider to make additional medication changes prior to your arrival to the NIH, to maximize our ability to diagnose PA correctly in you.
